Jurassic World hits billion dollar mark

Blockbuster movie Jurassic world has now become only the fourth film in history to pass the $1billion mark at the box office, joining Avata, Titanic & Fast & Furious 7. The film's total worldwide gross now stands at $1.65 billion.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, a low budget, faith based drama featuring an unknown cast has topped the US box office this week. War Room revolves around a woman turning to prayer to save her failing marriage and has grossed nearly $28m in its first week of release knocking the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Comptoon off the top spot.

Robert Redford's low-key movie, A Walk In The Woods, co-starring Nick Nolte, secured third spot taking in $10.3m.

New action movie Transporter Refueled, starring Brit rapper Ed Skrein, failed to ignite the box office, landing in fourth spot having taken in $8.7m.
